# SUB-002 — Output goes to subject files
Story
Single-session work means substantive Claude responses get buried in chat scrollback. Ishai's ADHD makes scrolling back to retrieve them painful, so they effectively vanish. Going forward: when Claude produces a meaningful response (analysis, decisions, structure, plans), it lands in a vault subject file. Chat replies become navigation pointers, not content. Ishai reads from the file.
Decisions made
- 2026-05-06. Substantive output = subject files. Chat = pointers + clarifications.
- 2026-05-06. Saved as durable feedback memory (
feedback_substantive-output-to-files.md) so it persists across sessions. - 2026-05-06. Resolved as a working-rule subject. Not an open question.
